The frame has been repainted at some point and the quality of the job is not the best, however it does have a charm and the replacement decals give it a lift. The mudguards were painted so I striped them and polished them up, but they do have a few signs of the old paint and there is a couple of small splits in the rear mudguard either side of the rear light. The front hub has an extra hole drilled into it, but it doesn't seem to have affected the rigidity of the wheel as both the front and rear spin perfectly. The bicycle rides extremely well, with its single speed freewheel and large balloon tyres, wafting you along. All of the components are really in very nice condition and all work as they should. The dynamo powers the lights nicely and the front rack is of course a very useful addition to a very practical bicycle. It is far from a mint bicycle but has a lovely patina, and a real presence. It really is a just a lovely machine!
